No answer key in the LIC AAO process
None of LIC’s 2025 AAO notices mention an answer key or objections, and the recruitment page lists none. The 2025 notification states that the tests and question papers are disclosed only to candidates during the exam and aren’t shared with anybody afterwards. Instead, LIC released shortlists at each stage, then cut-offs and a marks display once the whole process was finalised.
Be careful with “official LIC AAO answer key” links on other sites. LIC posts every update for its recruitment on licindia.in › Careers. You can still check your attempt against the scoring rules below.
Scoring at a glance
How LIC turns your answers into a score
- Count the correct answersLIC’s score for each objective test is based on the number of questions you answered correctly. For example, prelims Reasoning has 35 questions for 35 marks.
- No penalty for wrong answersThe AAO (Generalist) prelims and mains carry no negative marks. A wrong or blank answer simply scores nothing.
- Only saved answers countAn answer is evaluated only if you saved it with “Save & Next” or “Mark for Review & Next”.
- Equating across sessionsWhen a test runs in several sessions, scores are equated to a base form using the distribution of scores across all forms (the equi-percentile method). The 2025 prelims ran in four sessions.
- Two decimal placesTest-wise and total scores are reported to two decimal places, and cut-offs are applied to these.
Score rules that matter after the exam
These come straight from the 2025 notification, the mains Information Handout and LIC’s later notices:
Where to raise a query
There is no way to challenge individual questions or answers, and LIC says it won’t enter into correspondence on its selection decisions. For technical issues with the online process, its recruitment page pointed candidates to the IBPS-run grievance portal.
- Check licindia.in firstLIC posts every notice, result and link for the recruitment on its careers page.
- Keep your details readyHave your registration number or roll number and the stage your query is about (prelims, mains or interview) to hand.
- Technical issue? Use the grievance portalGo to
cgrs.ibps.in, IBPS’s Candidate Grievance Redressal System. - Don’t chase scores earlyIn its notice of 22 Apr 2026, LIC asked candidates not to send individual enquiries or RTIs about scores, since marks would be released only after the process was finalised.
- No claim to a re-testIf a technical problem disrupts the exam, any re-exam is at the test conducting body’s discretion — as with the Bhagalpur re-exam on 7 Oct 2025.
LIC also analyses candidates’ responses for patterns of similarity in right and wrong answers. If it concludes that answers were shared and the scores aren’t genuine, it can cancel the candidature and withhold the result.
Estimate your score
Even without an answer key, you can estimate your score test by test if you remember your attempt. With no negative marking, it’s a straight count. Then compare each test with its sectional minimum.
Score = correct answers × marks per question
Work it out separately for each test, because the minimums apply test by test. Wrong and unanswered questions both score zero.
This is a worked example, not real data, and it assumes every question in a test carries equal marks (90 ÷ 30 = 3). In the mains, GK and Insurance & Financial Market Awareness work out to 2 marks a question (60 ÷ 30). Your official score is equated across sessions, so it can differ slightly from a simple count. For reference, the 2025 UR cut-off on the mains total was 232 out of 300.
