Candidates must be graduates (Bachelor's degree in any discipline) from a recognized university to be eligible for IBPS Clerk 2025. The age criteria for general category is 20 to 28 years (with relaxations for reserved categories). Proficiency in the official local language of the state and basic computer knowledge (certificate or high school/college level study) are also required.

For IBPS Clerk 2025, the general category age limit is 20 years minimum and 28 years maximum. This means candidates should be between 20 and 28 years of age (some relaxation in upper age is given to OBC, SC/ST, and other reserved categories as per norms).

IBPS क्लर्क 2025 परीक्षा के लिए सामान्य श्रेणी की आयु सीमा न्यूनतम 20 वर्ष और अधिकतम 28 वर्ष है। अर्थात्, उम्मीदवार की आयु 20 से 28 वर्ष के बीच होनी चाहिए (OBC, SC/ST और अन्य आरक्षित श्रेणियों के लिए ऊपरी आयु सीमा में नियमानुसार छूट उपलब्ध है)।

There is no fixed number of attempts for the IBPS Clerk exam. As long as you meet the age and eligibility criteria, you can apply and appear for the IBPS Clerk exam multiple times. IBPS has not imposed any attempt bar, so candidates can take the exam multiple times until reaching the maximum age limit.

An IBPS Clerk's entry-level basic pay is around ₹19,900, but with allowances the gross monthly pay comes to roughly ₹40,000. The in-hand salary in 2025 is about ₹35,000–40,000 per month after deductions, varying slightly based on posting location (metro cities offer higher allowances). Clerks also receive benefits like Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and medical insurance.

IBPS Clerks have good promotion prospects. After a minimum of 2-3 years of service (and meeting performance criteria), a clerk can appear for internal exams to become a Trainee Officer/Assistant Manager (PO). Through these internal promotions, a clerk can rise to Officer (Scale I) and further to higher scales (Manager, Senior Manager, etc.) over the years. Promotions can be merit-based (via exams) or seniority-based, and an IBPS Clerk can eventually reach middle-management levels in the bank.
