SBI PO questions, answered
The online main exam was held on 12 September 2026. The prelims were held on 1–2 August 2026 and the prelims result came out on 28 August 2026. The Mains result is due in September/October 2026 (tentative).

21 to 30 years as on 1 April 2026 (born between 2 April 1996 and 1 April 2005). SC/ST get 5 years of relaxation, OBC (non-creamy layer) 3 years.
UR/EWS candidates get 6 chances; OBC and PwBD (UR/EWS/OBC) get 9; SC/ST have no limit. Only appearing in the Main exam counts as a chance — appearing in prelims does not.
Yes. One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer, in both prelims and mains. Unanswered questions carry no penalty.
Mains marks (objective 200 + descriptive 30) are scaled to 75 and Phase III marks (group exercise 20 + interview 30) to 25. Prelims marks are not counted.
Starting basic pay is ₹48,480 plus 4 advance increments in the JMGS-I scale (₹48,480–₹85,920), plus DA, HRA, CCA and other allowances. SBI gives an approximate CTC of ₹21.97 lakh at the Mumbai centre.
