- 16 FEBRBI advertised 650 Assistant posts (Panel Year 2025) across 17 recruiting offices.
- 09 MARCorrigendum extended the last date for online applications to 10 March 2026.
- 11–30 APROnline preliminary exam held on 11 and 13 April; Imphal and Kakching candidates took it on 30 April after a curfew.
- 25 MAYPrelims result declared; the online main exam was scheduled for 7 June 2026.
- 24 SEPMains result: roll numbers provisionally shortlisted for the Language Proficiency Test published (Kanpur/Lucknow result to follow).
RBI Assistant 2026 at a glance
RBI Assistant is the Reserve Bank of India's clerical-level recruitment. Candidates apply to one recruiting office and are selected through an online prelims, an online mains and a qualifying Language Proficiency Test (LPT) — there is no interview.

How the exam is scored
Prelims only shortlists (about 10× vacancies). Merit is on the mains aggregate; the LPT in the local language is qualifying. ¼ mark is deducted per wrong answer in both online exams, and each section must be cleared separately.

What you actually take home
Pay as given in the advertisement: starting basic ₹29,000 plus allowances. RBI states initial monthly gross emoluments (without HRA) of about ₹58,514; HRA of 15% of pay is extra if not in Bank accommodation.
