Applications closed on 10 Mar 2026
Online applications and fee payment for the Panel Year 2025 advertisement opened on 16 February 2026 and were due to close on 8 March 2026. Because candidates faced technical difficulties, RBI’s corrigendum of 9 March extended the last date to 23:59 on 10 March 2026, with all other terms unchanged. Applications were accepted online only, through RBI’s website. A two-day edit window on 14–15 March 2026 allowed a few fields to be corrected once. The recruitment has since moved on to the Language Proficiency Test stage.
RBI admits every applicant to the exam and checks eligibility only at the final stage — document verification — so an ineligible candidate can be dropped even after clearing the exams. Before applying in a future cycle, decide the one recruiting office you will apply to, make sure you can read, write, speak and understand its state language, and confirm your degree percentage as RBI calculates it.
How the online application worked
- Read the advertisement & check eligibilityDownload the advertisement from opportunities.rbi.org.in and check nationality, age (20–28 as on 1 February 2026, with relaxations) and qualification (a bachelor’s degree with 50% aggregate, pass class for SC/ST/PwBD, plus word processing on PC).
- Choose one recruiting officePick one of the 17 recruiting offices in the vacancy table. You must be proficient in the language of the state (or one of the states) that office covers — it is tested in the Language Proficiency Test — and if selected you are first posted within that office’s recruitment zone.
- Fill the online form on RBI’s websiteApply online only, through RBI’s website (rbi.org.in / opportunities.rbi.org.in), following the instructions in para 9 of the advertisement. Choose an exam centre that corresponds to the office you’re applying for, from the centre list in Appendix III; RBI may still allot another centre, and no change of centre is allowed later.
- Upload your photo & signatureScan and upload your photograph and signature exactly as the advertisement’s scanning guidelines describe; check them before you submit.
- Pay the fee onlinePay the application fee or intimation charges online within the window (16 February – 10 March 2026). The fee is non-refundable.
- Ask for pre-exam training if eligibleSC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates wanting RBI’s pre-examination training had to email the Regional Office by 10 March 2026 in the format in Appendix IV/V; travel and stay expenses are the candidate’s own.
Documents & details required
The edit window (14–15 Mar 2026)
The advertisement said an edit window would be notified later. RBI’s notice of 13 March 2026 opened it for two days — from 00:01 on 14 March to 23:59 on 15 March 2026 — and allowed only a handful of fields to be changed, once:
| Detail | Rule |
|---|---|
| Editable fields | Exam centre, father’s name, mother’s name, 10th/12th percentage |
| Not editable | Name, email, mobile number, addresses, category, nationality |
| Correction fee | ₹200 including GST, same for all categories, non-refundable |
| How many times | Once only |
Because your name, category and contact details could not be changed even in the edit window, check them carefully before you submit. The exact photo and signature scan specifications (size, dimensions, format) are in the “how to apply” section of the advertisement — follow those, not third-party summaries.
