Mains result — out on 24 September 2026
On 24 September 2026 RBI published, centre by centre, the roll numbers of candidates provisionally shortlisted on their online Main exam performance. These candidates now take the Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The same notice said the result for the Kanpur/Lucknow recruiting office would be declared shortly, and that the mains marksheet and category-wise and region-wise cut-offs would be displayed shortly. Neither had been published when this page was last checked (12 October 2026).
RBI publishes results for this recruitment on its website, in the Results section of opportunities.rbi.org.in. JobSafal does not host results — always check there. For LPT and pre-recruitment queries, RBI asks candidates to contact the Regional Office they applied to.

How marks are counted
The RBI Assistant advertisement (Scheme of Selection) sets out these rules for the online exams:
How the final list is made
Prelims only shortlists for Mains. Candidates high in merit on the Mains aggregate — about twice the vacancies — are called for the LPT in the official or local language of the state of the office they applied to. The LPT is mandatory, with no exemption, and a candidate found not proficient is disqualified. Final selection depends on the online exam merit, qualifying the LPT, medical fitness and verification of certificates. There is no interview.
RBI admits all applicants to the exam and checks eligibility only at the final stage, document verification — so a place on the shortlist is provisional until your certificates are verified. RBI may also increase or decrease the number of vacancies.
