- 01 DECSSC GD Constable 2026 notification released with 25,487 tentative vacancies in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, Assam Rifles and SSF.
- 02 JANSSC gave a tentative CBE start of 23 February 2026; the exam was later held from 27 April.
- 22 MAYThe CBE set for 28 May 2026 was moved to 27 May 2026 after the Bakrid holiday change.
- 15 JUNTentative answer keys and response sheets released; challenges were open till 20 June 2026 at ₹50 per question.
- NEXTCBE result and the PET/PST shortlist are awaited — SSC will publish them on ssc.gov.in.

The 2026 recruitment timeline
25,487 posts on the table
The notification lists 25,487 tentative vacancies: 23,467 for men and 2,020 for women. CISF has the most (14,595), then CRPF (5,490), SSB (1,764), Assam Rifles (1,706), ITBP (1,293), BSF (616) and SSF (23). SSF is filled on an all-India basis; the other forces state-wise.

How the exam is scored
One computer-based paper of 80 matric-level questions. CBE marks (normalized, plus NCC bonus) decide merit; PET/PST and the medical are qualifying.
