Citizenship & domicile

Nationality & domicile

You must be a citizen of India. Because CAPF and Assam Rifles vacancies are allotted State/UT- and area-wise, you also need proof of domicile:

✓
A citizen of India
✓
Domicile certificate / PRCOf the same State/UT you entered in the form, checked at document verification
✓
Candidates from AssamNo domicile certificate needed; residence is verified by the district authority
✓
West Pakistani Refugees (J&K, Ladakh)A Nativity/Identity certificate (Annexure-XIII) instead of domicile

SSF posts are filled on an all-India basis; all other forces fill posts State/UT-wise, with some vacancies earmarked for Border Guarding and Militancy/Naxal-affected districts and reserved for candidates from those districts. The domicile State and district you enter in the form cannot be changed later.

Age limit

Age limit

One age band applies to every force and post, counted as on 01.01.2026.
