No answer key in the SBI PO 2026 documents
Advertisement CRPD/PO/2026-27/09, its corrigendum of 1 July 2026 and the Acquaint Yourself Booklets for the prelims and Mains don’t mention releasing an answer key or taking objections. The prelims were held on 1–2 August 2026 and the result came out on 28 August 2026. The online Main exam was held on 12 September 2026. The next official step is the Mains result, tentatively in September/October 2026, which hadn’t been published as of 12 October 2026.
Be careful with “official answer key” links on other sites. SBI posts all updates for this recruitment only on its careers website, sbi.bank.in. You can still check your attempt against the marking rules below.
Scoring at a glance
How SBI turns your answers into a score
- Only saved answers countIn the online test, an answer is saved only when you click “Save & Next”. Answers that are saved, or answered and marked for review, are evaluated.
- Marks for correct answersEach test has a fixed number of questions and marks. For example, Mains Data Analysis & Interpretation has 30 questions for 60 marks.
- Penalty for wrong answersFor every wrong answer, a quarter of that question’s marks is deducted. This gives your corrected score.
- Blank answersA question you leave unanswered carries no penalty.
- Rounding in the MainsThe Mains Acquaint Yourself Booklet says that if the total penalty for a test comes to a fraction, it’s rounded off to the nearest integer.
Score rules that matter after the exam
These come straight from the advertisement and the Acquaint Yourself Booklets:
Where to raise a query
The advertisement doesn’t provide a way to challenge individual answers. For problems with the application, fee or call letters, it gives a helpdesk number and a grievance portal.

- No claim to a re-testIf a technical problem affects the exam, SBI may move candidates to another venue or computer, or hold the exam again if it considers it necessary.
SBI also compares each candidate’s responses with those of other candidates to detect patterns of similarity. If it finds that answers were shared and the scores aren’t genuine, it can cancel candidature.
Estimate your corrected score
Even without an answer key, you can estimate your score test by test if you remember your attempt. In the Mains, compare each test with the sectional cut-off rule, because you have to clear all five.
Score = marks for correct answers − ¼ × marks of each wrong answer
Work it out separately for each test, because the Mains cut-offs apply test by test. Unanswered questions score zero and carry no penalty. In the Mains, a test’s total penalty is rounded to the nearest whole number.
This is a worked example, not real data. SBI gives marks per test, not per question. If marks were spread evenly, a question would be worth 1.5 in Reasoning & Computer Aptitude (40 Q, 60 marks), 1 in General Awareness (60 Q, 60 marks) and 0.5 in English (40 Q, 20 marks). For the prelims, SBI gives only a 100-mark total for 100 questions. The descriptive paper (30 marks) isn’t objective, so you can’t estimate it this way.
