What’s new in LIC AAO 2026
- 16 AUG 2025LIC notified 350 AAO (Generalist) posts, alongside 410 AAO (Specialist) and 81 Assistant Engineer posts in a companion notification.
- 3 & 7 OCT 2025Online preliminary exam held on 3 October; some sessions at one Bhagalpur centre were re-held on 7 October.
- 8 NOV 2025Online main exam held; the Generalist mains result (4 Feb 2026) called 1,119 candidates for interview.
- 14 MAY 2026After interview and medical exam, 333 Generalist candidates were found eligible and will be called for training.
- OCT 2026LIC has not yet published the next (33rd batch) AAO notification; its careers page still lists only the 2025 recruitment.

How the exam is scored
Prelims only shortlist (~20× vacancies). Mains objective (300) + interview (60) decide the final merit; English papers are qualifying. No negative marking for AAO (Generalist) in prelims or mains.

What you actually take home
Pay as given in LIC's 2025 notification (para 4), plus admissible allowances. LIC puts total emoluments at the minimum of the scale at about ₹1,26,000 a month in an 'A' class city.
