SSC CGL exam analysis
Exam analysis is the post-shift review of the actual Tier 1 paper — the difficulty of each section, the number of “good attempts”, the topics that showed up, and what all of that suggests about the cut-off. It’s how aspirants gauge where they stand before the result.
What the analysis covers
Section-wise review
How Tier 1’s four sections typically break down — we fill live difficulty and good-attempt numbers here after each 2026 shift.
General Intelligence & Reasoning
25 Q · 50 marks · usually easy–moderate and the most scoring section.
General Awareness
25 Q · 50 marks · fast to attempt; difficulty swings with static GK & current affairs.
Quantitative Aptitude
25 Q · 50 marks · usually the toughest and most time-consuming.
English Comprehension
25 Q · 50 marks · easy–moderate; a strong scorer with good vocabulary.
Good attempts
“Good attempts” is the number of questions a well-prepared candidate attempts accurately in a shift — a quick proxy for a safe score. It shifts with difficulty, but as a rough guide:
| Section | Indicative good attempts |
|---|---|
| General Intelligence & Reasoning | 20–23 |
| General Awareness | 17–21 |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 17–21 |
| English Comprehension | 20–23 |
| Overall | ~75–85 |
These are indicative bands from typical cycles — the exact good-attempt numbers for CGL 2026 will be posted here after each shift.
Difficulty & the cut-off
The link is simple: an easier paper with high good attempts pushes the cut-off up, while a tougher shift pulls it down. Reading the analysis alongside the answer key gives you a realistic sense of your standing before the official result.
