Tentative figures as published. Community-wise, the notice lists UR 10,07,850, SC 14,60,296, ST 4,64,480, OBC 20,34,679 and EWS 2,72,455. Post-wise figures aren’t available because it is a mixed selection. These are applications, not the number who appeared in the CBT, which the RRBs have not published.
Normalisation, qualifying marks & tie-breaks
Because the CBT ran over many shifts, the RRBs normalise marks (para 15.0) using their normalisation notice of 9 February 2026. Raw scores become percentile scores within each shift (to 5 decimal places), and for Level 1 these are merged as RRC scores. Normalised marks are worked out against a “base shift”, the shift with the highest mean among those with enough candidates present, and decide whether you reach the minimum: 40% for UR and EWS, 30% for OBC-NCL, SC and ST (relaxable by 2 marks for PwBD if there is a shortfall). PET candidates are then called at three times the community-wise vacancies on CBT merit. Equal scores are separated by age (older first), then alphabetical order of the given name.
