RBI Grade B 2026 vacancy at a glance
The 2026 advertisement lists 60 vacancies for Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR): 40 in the General cadre, 10 in DEPR (Department of Economic and Policy Research) and 10 in DSIM (Department of Statistics and Information Management). This page focuses on the General cadre; DEPR and DSIM are separate streams with their own exam schemes, and you can apply for only one of those two.
Category-wise vacancies
Vacancies by cadre and category, from the RBI Grade B 2026 advertisement:

OBC posts are for the non-creamy layer only; creamy-layer OBC candidates apply as General. The OBC (NCL) certificate must be based on income for FY 2023-24 to 2025-26 and issued between 1 April 2026 and the closing date, and EWS candidates need an Income & Asset Certificate for FY 2025-26, valid for 2026-27. Reserved-category candidates can apply even where no post is reserved for them in a cadre, but without any concession.
PwBD vacancies
Reservation for persons with benchmark disabilities is horizontal — these posts sit inside the category totals above, not on top of them — and PwBD candidates can belong to any category.

Benchmark disability means at least 40%, backed by a latest certificate from a competent authority under the RPwD Act, 2016. RBI has identified only these sub-categories as suitable for Grade B: blindness and low vision; hard of hearing; one arm, both arms, one leg, both legs and their combinations, cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, muscular dystrophy and spinal deformity/injury; autism spectrum disorder (mild) and mental illness; and multiple disabilities among these.
