How scores are worked out
The CRP RRBs-XV notification sets out these rules for Office Assistant scores:
Merit list & state-wise allotment
For Office Assistants, only Online Main exam marks count for the final merit list. You need a minimum score in each Mains test, and the number of candidates shortlisted for provisional allotment depends on the vacancies in each state. Allotment is restricted to the RRBs of the state or UT you applied for.
Clearing each test alone may not be enough — your total must also be high enough in merit. If two candidates have the same score, the older candidate is placed higher. A reserved-category candidate selected on General norms is treated as General. A reserve list to the extent of vacancies as per extant provision may be drawn in each category, but it does not guarantee allotment.
How IBPS RRB Clerk cut-offs workWhat happens after the Mains result
There is no interview for Office Assistants, but a few steps remain before you join an RRB.
- Provisional allotmentTentatively February/March 2027, to an RRB of the state you applied for, based on your Mains merit and the actual vacancies the RRBs report.
- Document verificationThe allotted RRB checks your eligibility documents and identity, on or before the day of joining. Keep your category certificates in the prescribed format ready.
- Offer & joiningThe allotted RRB issues the offer of appointment and handles verification and joining — IBPS has no role in that step.
- Reserve listIf RRBs report more vacancies within one year of provisional allotment, further rounds may be run from the reserve list.
