No city slip — you chose your own slot
In its notice of 4 December 2025, SSC let candidates choose their exam city and date themselves. Because of that, SSC said the usual “City Live” step would not be done, and admission certificates would be generated directly 2–3 days before the exam date.
Slots were chosen by logging in to the SSC candidate portal. A candidate who did not choose a slot in time was treated as not willing to appear, and no admit card was generated for them. The CBE has since been held and its result declared.
What replaced the city slip
How self-slot selection worked
For the record — the window is closed. SSC allotted slots on a best-effort basis, and its decision was final.
- Log inCandidates signed in to the SSC candidate portal on
ssc.gov.in. - Pick city & dateThey chose an exam city and a date within the CBE window, 18 Dec 2025 – 6 Jan 2026.
- Beat the one-week ruleThe slot had to be chosen at least a week before the date — for 1 Jan 2026, by 24 Dec 2025.
- Submit onceA submitted choice was final; no changes or representations were accepted.
- Download the admit cardIt was generated 2–3 days before the chosen exam date.
Slot selection vs admit card
Two different steps, at two different times:
| Self-slot selection | Admit card | |
|---|---|---|
| When | 5 – 30 Dec 2025 | 2–3 days before your chosen date |
| What it was | You chose your exam city and date | Your entry document for the CBE |
| Carry to exam? | Nothing to carry | Yes — a printout was mandatory |
