How scores are worked out and shared
The CRP SPL-XVI notification sets out these rules for calculating and sharing scores:
Merit list & bank allotment
Only Online Main exam marks count for shortlisting to the interview and for the final merit list. In Mains, every test except Professional Knowledge is qualifying, and merit listing is done on Professional Knowledge scores. The interview carries 100 marks, and Mains and interview are weighted 80:20. You must qualify in both and rank high enough to be considered for provisional allotment, which IBPS makes on a merit-cum-preference basis.
Minimum interview marks: 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD); the interview score of anyone below this is not disclosed. If two candidates have the same score, the older candidate is placed higher. A reserve list of about 20% of the vacancies in each category for each post may be kept, but it does not guarantee allotment.
How IBPS SO cut-offs workWhat happens after the Prelims result
Clearing Prelims only gets you to Mains — these steps remain before you join a bank.
- Mains call letter & examDownload the Mains call letter from ibps.in (October 2026, tentative). The Mains is on 1 November 2026, as per the IBPS tentative calendar. Bring your stamped Prelims call letter and the stamped copy of your ID proof, or you won’t be allowed to sit it.
- Mains resultTentatively in November 2026. Shortlisting for interview depends on a minimum score in each Mains test and a high enough Professional Knowledge score.
- Document upload & interviewUpload PDF copies of your eligibility documents through the link IBPS gives (mandatory), download your interview call letter from ibps.in, and bring originals plus self-attested copies to the interview (Nov/Dec 2026, tentative).
- Provisional allotment & joiningAllotment to one of the participating banks, tentatively in January 2027, on merit-cum-preference and the actual vacancies banks report. The allotted bank issues the offer of appointment; postings can be anywhere in India or abroad.
