FAQ

Syllabus questions, answered

No. Section D of the CRP PO/MT-XVI notification lists only the tests with their questions, marks, timing and medium. The one exception is the descriptive paper, which IBPS says may be broadly based on economic and social issues, emerging trends in banking and technology, current events and ethics. The topic lists on this page are commonly tested areas.
Three — English Language (30 questions, 30 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (35 questions, 30 marks) and Reasoning Ability (35 questions, 40 marks). Each is timed separately at 20 minutes, for 100 marks in 60 minutes, and you must clear the cut-off in each one.
For every wrong answer in an objective test, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question is deducted. This applies to both prelims and mains. A question left blank carries no penalty.
Two questions — an essay and a comprehension — for 25 marks in 30 minutes, in English. IBPS says the paper may be evaluated by an automated scoring mechanism that looks at writing proficiency.
In the exam, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Data Analysis & Interpretation and the awareness test are offered in English and Hindi; the English Language tests and the descriptive paper are in English only. Inside JobSafal you can study and practise in both languages.
No. Only Main exam marks are used to shortlist for the personality test and interview, and for the final merit list, where Mains and interview are weighted 80:20.
