Mains result — not out yet
IBPS released the Prelims result with its notice of 29 September 2026, which also scheduled the Online Main exam for 4 October 2026. The notification’s tentative schedule puts the Mains result in November 2026.

How scores are worked out and shared
The IBPS PO 2026 notification sets out these rules for calculating and sharing scores:
Merit list & bank allotment
Only Online Main exam marks count for shortlisting to the personality test and interview, and for the final merit list. The interview carries 100 marks, and Mains and interview are weighted 80:20. You must qualify in both and rank high enough in merit to be considered for provisional allotment, which IBPS makes on a merit-cum-preference basis.
Minimum interview marks: 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD). If two candidates have the same score, the older candidate is placed higher. A reserve list of about 20% of the vacancies in each category may be kept, but it does not guarantee allotment.
How IBPS PO cut-offs workWhat happens after the Mains result
Clearing Mains isn’t the finish line — these steps remain before you join a bank.
- Personality testA self-report test, tentatively in November 2026. It does not need to be passed, but you must take it to be eligible for the interview.
- Document upload & interviewUpload PDF copies of your eligibility documents through the link IBPS gives (mandatory), download your interview call letter from ibps.in, and bring originals plus self-attested copies to the interview (Nov/Dec 2026, tentative).
- Provisional allotmentAllotment to one of the participating banks, tentatively in January 2027, based on merit-cum-preference and the actual vacancies banks report.
- Offer & joiningThe allotted bank issues the offer of appointment and handles verification and joining. Postings can be anywhere in India or abroad.
