Leave at home

Not allowed inside the exam venue

UPSC bans mobile phones and communication devices at the venue, even when switched off. Having or using them can lead to disciplinary action, including cancellation of candidature, an FIR and debarment. There is no safe-keeping at the venue, so don’t bring them at all.

× Mobile phones, even switched off
× Smart or digital watches
× Bluetooth devices & pagers
× Pen drives & storage media
× Cameras & IT gadgets
× Calculators
× Books & incriminating material
× Bags
× Valuable or costly items

Calculators aren’t permitted for objective-type papers, so the prelims is answered without one. UPSC isn’t responsible for the loss of anything you bring.
