Eligibility
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
18–33 years for Unreserved/EWS.
Relaxations: OBC-NCL: +3 years, SC/ST: +5 years, PwBD, Ex-SM, etc. as per tables in the CEN.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university by 20 Nov 2025 (closing date).
Post-wise parameters/skills are listed in Annexure-A of the CEN. Candidates awaiting final results should not apply.
Medical Standards
A2/B2/C2 as applicable to the post. Candidates must satisfy the prescribed vision/fitness standards.
Examination Fee & Refund
₹500: All candidates (except concession categories). Refund ₹400 after appearing in CBT-1 (bank charges apply).
₹250: SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/Female/Transgender/Minority/Economically Backward Class (EBC). Refund ₹250 after appearing in CBT-1 (bank charges apply).
Payment mode: Online only (debit/credit/UPI).
Note: EBC is distinct from OBC/EWS; candidates claiming EBC must possess the valid document as per Annexure IIIA.
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
Stages
CBT-1 → CBT-2 → CBAT (only for Station Master/Traffic Assistant) / Typing Skill Test (for notified posts) → Document Verification → Medical. Selection is strictly merit-based at each stage.
CBT-1 (Common for all notified posts)
Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible scribe users)
Questions: 100 MCQs; GA 40, Math 30, Reasoning 30
Negative Marking: -1/3 per wrong answer
Qualifying (min. percent): UR/EWS 40%, OBC 30%, SC 30%, ST 25% (PwBD relaxation by 2% where applicable).
CBT-1 Syllabus (indicative):
Mathematics: Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM/HCF, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Mensuration, Time & Work/Distance, SI/CI, Profit & Loss, Algebra, Geometry & Trigonometry, Statistics, etc.
General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies, Series, Coding-Decoding, Puzzles, Venn, Data Sufficiency, Syllogism, Statement–Conclusion/Course of Action, Decision Making, Maps, Graph interpretation, etc.
General Awareness: Current Events (India & World), Sports, Art & Culture, Indian Literature, Polity & Governance, Economy, General Science, Space/Nuclear, UN/World Orgs, Environmental Issues, Computers/Basics, Transport Systems, Famous Personalities, Important Govt. Schemes, etc.
CBT-2 (Post-wise, higher difficulty)
Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible scribe users)
Questions: 120 MCQs; GA 50, Math 35, Reasoning 35
Negative marking -1/3; cut-offs similar to CBT-1 (with normalization).
CBAT (Only for Station Master/Traffic Assistant)
Conducted after CBT-2.
Qualifying: Minimum T-Score 42 in each test battery (no relaxation; English/Hindi medium; no negative marking).
Final panel for these posts: 70% CBT-2 + 30% CBAT (among those qualifying CBAT). Vision certificate in the prescribed format is mandatory during CBAT.
Typing Skill Test (as applicable)
Conducted for specified clerical/typing posts after CBT-2 (details in the CEN/notice).
